Loose Blue Gum

Loose blue gum (bloekom) is our bulk firewood in Cape Town: seasoned kaggelhout for the fireplace, sold all year by the piece, 250 to 3,000 pieces, carried in and stacked within 50 m of where the truck offloads. The Firewood Company’s Dry Guarantee doesn’t cover it: a loose load is sold as-is, so it’s for buyers who can keep it under a roof. We deliver it from Parow across Cape Town, the Winelands and the West Coast.

How to store and light it

Stack it under a roof, off the ground, with air moving through it. In a closed-combustion unit, light it on untreated kindling and one firelighter.

How much is bulk firewood in Cape Town?

Our loose blue gum is priced per size, and the shop shows the live price when you choose one. It includes carrying the wood in and stacking it within 50 m of where the truck offloads; delivery is one flat fee per drop for your area, from R200.

Is loose firewood covered by the Dry Guarantee?

No. Our Dry Guarantee covers our bagged wood, kindling, charcoal, briquettes and anthracite; loose wood, the Rooikrans Bulk Bag and Wingerd Stompies are the exceptions.

Will you stack a bulk firewood delivery?

Yes, within 50 m of where the truck offloads; it’s in the price. A longer carry is by arrangement: tell us in the order notes.

The same seasoned bloekom. Bagged: 20kg bags of about 20 pieces, with our Dry Guarantee. Loose: 250 to 3,000 pieces, carried in and stacked for you, for a covered wood store, without the Dry Guarantee.
