Delivery to Parow

The Firewood Company delivers kaggelhout, braai wood, Namibian hardwood and charcoal to Parow, Parow North, Tygerdal and the Tygervalley side for R200 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days, with Saturdays on request, and the driver carries the bags in and stacks them as part of the fee. Collection from the factory shop at 35 Tredoux Street — Monday to Friday 08:00–16:30, Saturday 08:00–12:45 — costs nothing.

Delivery fee: R200 anywhere in Parow, two bags or twenty — and this is the shortest trip our truck makes. No minimum.

Delivery days: Monday to Friday, and Saturdays on request when there is enough demand. Being the yard’s own suburb, most Parow orders arrive within 1–2 business days; in the coldest weeks of July allow 2–4. Checkout shows the current turnaround before you pay.

Saturdays: not a fixed run — when enough Northern Suburbs orders line up for a Saturday, the truck goes. Ask on , or walk into the shop on Saturday morning; it is open until 12:45.

Carry-in and stacking: in the fee, through the side gate to the braai or the garage. If you want the bags emptied into a wood box, unbagging is R10 a bag at checkout.

Collecting instead? From Parow it is the obvious option if you have a bakkie or a trailer. The shop is at 35 Tredoux Street; the yard where the wood is processed is two doors down at No. 31. Come in, see the wood, load up and go — no delivery fee, no minimum.

Access: older Parow streets have a driveway at the gate and a carport that is usually full, so tell us in the order notes whether the bags go through the side gate or into the garage. On the Tygervalley side the complexes want a gate code and a unit number.

The yard’s own suburb

Parow is where The Firewood Company started in 2001, with a load of wood and a bakkie, and the yard has not moved. The old grid of streets between Voortrekker Road and the N1 was built when a house came with a chimney as standard: single-storey, a narrow brick hearth in the lounge, a stoep at the front and a braai at the back that gets lit on a Wednesday because it can be. Those hearths are small, and a full-length log sits awkwardly in them — which is one reason Short Pieces exist in our range. Up the slope in Parow North, under the Tygerberg, the houses are newer and the wind off the ridge is sharper in June; that is closed-combustion country, and the order there is dense hardwood rather than a mix. Across Durban Road towards Tygervalley the map turns to complexes and townhouses with a small braai on a small patio and nowhere to keep more than a couple of bags.

What makes Parow different from every other page on this site is the distance. The bags for a Parow drop are loaded on Tredoux Street and are at your gate before the truck has warmed up, and half of Parow simply comes to the shop instead — some of these customers have been walking through the gate since the yard was a bakkie and a pile. Help U Gas, our sister company, is up the road at No. 27: bring the empty bottle when you come for wood.

What Parow orders

Blue Gum / Bloekom Seasoned ±20kg — R109 — the everyday kaggelhout for an older Parow hearth. Lights without fuss and settles into a long, even burn.

Short Pieces – Blue Gum ±20kg — R105 — bloekom cut short for the narrow brick fireplaces the old Parow houses were built with. Fits the grate instead of fighting it.

Rooikrans Bulk Bag — R80 — the Cape’s braai wood for a Wednesday-night chop. Lights off one firelighter and coals fast. Seasoned and stored under cover; sold outside the Dry Guarantee.

Parow firewood delivery — FAQ

How much is firewood delivery to Parow?

R200 flat per drop, the same in Parow North, Tygerdal and the Tygervalley side. Or collect from the factory shop at 35 Tredoux Street, where there is no fee and no minimum. Checkout shows the fee before you pay.

Is it worth having it delivered when the shop is in Parow?

If you have a bakkie and ten minutes, collect — it is free. If you would rather not lift twenty-kilo bags, R200 buys the carrying and stacking: the driver puts the wood in the garage or by the braai and you never touch it. Plenty of Parow customers do both — collect a few bags in the week, have the winter stack delivered.

Which wood fits an old Parow fireplace?

Short Pieces — bloekom cut for exactly that narrow brick firebox — with a bag of pine kindling and one firelighter. A full-sized hearth takes straight bloekom. If yours is a closed-combustion unit, bloekom or blackwattle is our recommendation; Heat Logs if you want fewer top-ups and no bark.

Do you deliver to Parow on Saturdays?

On request. The Northern Suburbs run is Monday to Friday, and a Saturday truck goes when enough demand lines up for the day — ask on . The factory shop is open Saturdays 08:00–12:45, which for Parow is usually the easier answer.

Is the wood dry when it leaves the yard?

Yes — and the yard is your neighbour. Every bag is seasoned and kept under cover on Tredoux Street until it goes on the truck or into your boot, so it lights properly and burns hot instead of hissing. That is the Dry Guarantee we have stood behind since 2001: if a bag disappoints, tell us and we make it right. Read the Dry Guarantee.

Can you deliver to a townhouse complex near Tygervalley?

Yes. Put the complex name, the unit number and the gate procedure in the order notes, and the driver brings the bags to the patio or the garage. A couple of bags at a time is a normal order there — there is no minimum.

Can I get LP gas from you as well?

Yes, through our sister company Help U Gas at 27 Tredoux Street, a few doors from the firewood shop — some of the best LP gas prices in Cape Town. Bring the empty bottle when you come for wood, or order gas delivered at helpugas.co.za.

Do you supply restaurants and takeaways along Voortrekker Road?

Yes. Restaurant-grade lump charcoal, kameeldoring, briquettes and firewood in quantity, on a standing order that runs with the Northern Suburbs run days, delivered to the kitchen door. us for trade pricing.
