Delivery to Paarl
The Firewood Company delivers kaggelhout, braai wood, Namibian hardwood and charcoal to Paarl, Courtrai, Northern Paarl, Southern Paarl, Denneburg, Dal Josafat, Agter-Paarl and Klein Drakenstein for R300 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days. Offloading and stacking the bags included.
Delivery fee: R300 flat, whatever you order. No minimum.
Delivery days: Monday to Friday. Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days; in peak winter weeks it can stretch to 2–4. The turnaround for your order is shown at checkout before you pay, and we update it as demand changes.
Cut-off: order by Thursday 15:00 to be on Friday’s run. Order after it and the honest answer is usually Monday, though it costs nothing to ask.
Offloading and stacking the bags: included. Unbagging is R10 a bag, added at checkout.
Access: Main Street runs the length of the town and a good half of Paarl hangs off it, so say which end you are on and whether the wood goes through the front or round the side. On the farms, the gate code and the name of the dog are equally useful.
Paarl: the local paragraph
Paarl is a valley town with a granite lid on it. The domes above the town — Paarl Rock and the two beside it — take the day’s heat and let it go slowly, which is part of why February here is properly hot and why the fire lives outdoors for months at a stretch. Winter does the opposite. The cold settles in the valley overnight, the Berg River fogs up before sunrise, and the old houses down Main Street give that cold nowhere to go: Cape Dutch gables and Victorian verandahs, rooms with ceilings built for January rather than July. A room like that wants a fire lit early, not a big fire lit late. Out at Agter-Paarl, Dal Josafat and Klein Drakenstein it turns into working farmland — sheds, a wood store, a braai that seats fifteen, and orders sized to match. Paarl is one of the few places on our map where the summer order and the winter order are both big, for opposite reasons.
What we’d put on the truck for a Paarl house in July: four kameeldoring for the closed-combustion unit and four of the Namibian hardwood mix for the open hearth. In February: rooikrans, and plenty of it.

How much is firewood delivery to Paarl?
R300 flat per drop, the same in Courtrai, Denneburg, Dal Josafat, Agter-Paarl and Klein Drakenstein, and the same whether you order two bags or fill the bakkie. Checkout shows it before you pay.
Which wood suits an old Paarl house with high ceilings?
The Namibian hardwood mix or kameeldoring. A tall room loses its heat upward, so you want wood that coals down and keeps radiating rather than wood that flares and fades. Bloekom at R109 is the cheaper nightly option and does the job in a deep open hearth.
We have a smallholding outside town. Can we buy loose wood?
From October to March, yes. Loose blue gum and blackwattle come in 250, 500 or 1,000 pieces at R550, R1,100 and R2,000, and loose rooikrans at R800, R1,500 and R2,950, tipped and offloaded where you say. Loose wood is sold as-is for buyers with covered storage and carries no Dry Guarantee; the bagged wood does.
Do you deliver braai wood to Paarl in summer?
All year, Monday to Friday. Summer is the busier half of the year here and the run comes through Paarl on the same schedule — Thursday 15:00 is the cut-off that puts you on Friday’s truck with the weekend still ahead of you.
