Delivery to Sea Point & Fresnaye

The Firewood Company delivers heat logs, short pieces, kaggelhout and charcoal to Sea Point, Fresnaye, Bantry Bay, Green Point, Mouille Point and Three Anchor Bay for R300 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days, and the driver brings the bags up in the service lift and stacks them — that is in the fee.

Delivery fee: R300 for one bag of heat logs to a flat or a winter of kaggelhout to a Fresnaye house. No minimum order.

Delivery days: Monday to Friday. Most Sea Point orders arrive within 1–2 business days; when the first north-wester of winter has every block on Beach Road ordering in the same week, allow 2–4. Checkout shows the current turnaround before you pay.

Cut-off: Thursday 15:00 for Friday’s Atlantic Seaboard run. Later than that, us — if the Friday truck has room we add you, but we cannot promise it.

Carry-in and stacking: in the fee, lift or garage as described below. If you want the wood loose in a store cupboard rather than in bags, unbagging is R10 a bag at checkout.

Access: almost every address between Mouille Point and Bantry Bay is a block rather than a house — a bay in the basement, one lift, and a desk that wants a name before the boom goes up. The order notes are where that gets solved: which building, which entrance, and who the driver reports to on arrival. One rule, so nobody is surprised at the door: bags go up only where there is a service lift. No service lift, and we stack them in your ground-floor garage or parking bay instead.

Four kilometres long, three streets deep

Sea Point is four kilometres long and about three streets deep, and each of the three does a different job. The Promenade and Beach Road take the weather first: a winter north-wester arrives off the Atlantic with nothing in front of it and leaves salt on the glass from Mouille Point round to Bantry Bay. Behind them Main Road carries the shops and the older blocks, and behind that the ground goes up hard — High Level Road, then Ocean View Drive, then the Fresnaye avenues and Kloof Road climbing under Lion’s Head. That climb is also the change in housing stock. Down on the flat it is sectional title: a balcony, a small open hearth or a closed unit, and a store cupboard that will take a few bags and not a winter’s worth. Up on the slope the houses are single-owner, with a full-size fireplace and a terrace to stack against. Come summer the south-easter wraps round Signal Hill and drops onto Green Point, so an open balcony is not a wood store on either street. No postcode on the Atlantic Seaboard sends us more orders than this one.

What we’d put on the truck for a Sea Point flat: a bag of heat logs, a bag of short pieces and a box of firelighters — the small, frequent order that suits a flat. For a Fresnaye house: six bloekom and a bag of swarthaak, stacked where the wind can’t reach.

What Sea Point & Fresnaye orders

Namibian Hardwood Eco / Heat Logs 10kg (12 logs) — R115 — twelve compressed hardwood logs, all the same length and low on ash. A week’s worth stands in the corner of a store cupboard instead of against a wall.

Short Pieces – Blue Gum 20kg — R105 — the same bloekom, cut down to a length that suits the small hearths in the older Beach Road and Main Road blocks. Goes in flat instead of at an angle.

Blue Gum / Bloekom Seasoned 20kg — R109 — full-length kaggelhout for the Fresnaye and Bantry Bay fireplaces, where the firebox is big enough to take it. The standard winter order up the hill.

Sea Point & Fresnaye firewood delivery — FAQ

How much is firewood delivery to Sea Point or Fresnaye?

R300 flat, and the same number from Mouille Point round to Bantry Bay. One bag of heat logs or a winter of kaggelhout, the fee does not move. It shows at checkout before you pay.

Which firewood suits a Sea Point flat?

Heat logs, in most cases — twelve even lengths to a 10kg bag, low ash, and nothing that needs sweeping off a lift floor. If the flat has a small open hearth and you would rather burn real wood, Short Pieces. Up the hill in Fresnaye and Bantry Bay the fireboxes are full size, so that is straight bloekom.

Can you deliver into a block with a security desk and one lift?

Yes, and most of what we drop here is exactly that. We need the building name, which entrance the truck should use, the flat number, and a heads-up if the desk has to phone you before anyone comes up. If the block has a service lift, the bags go up in it and get stacked where you want them — balcony corner, store cupboard, next to the unit. No service lift, and they are stacked in your ground-floor garage or parking bay — say which in the order notes.

Where should I keep wood on a balcony this close to the sea?

Covered on top, off the tiles, and against the wall rather than the railing — sea air takes the edge off a good bag left open to it. If there is no covered corner, order a week at a time and let the wood stay dry in our shed rather than on your balcony.

Is the wood dry when it arrives at the coast?

Yes. Every bag is seasoned and kept under cover at our Parow yard until it goes on the truck, so it lights properly and burns hot instead of hissing. That is the Dry Guarantee we have stood behind for 25 years: if a bag disappoints, tell us and we make it right. What the sea air does to it after that depends on where you keep it — see the balcony question above. Read the Dry Guarantee.

Do you deliver to Green Point, Mouille Point and Three Anchor Bay?

Yes — all three are on the same R300 Atlantic Seaboard run as Sea Point, Fresnaye and Bantry Bay. Checkout confirms the fee from your postcode before you pay.

Can you deliver to an Airbnb or holiday flat when the owner is not there?

Yes, if someone can receive it — a building manager, a cleaner or the desk. Put their name and number and the flat number in the order notes, and the driver reports to them. If the bags have to go up and nobody can let the driver in, order for the day you or your guests arrive.

Which wood for a house up the hill in Fresnaye or Bantry Bay?

Full-length bloekom for the open hearth — the fireboxes up there take it — and a bag of swarthaak or kameeldoring for the nights you want coals that outlast the wind. Stack it on the terrace against the house wall, covered on top, where the north-wester cannot get at it.
