What “dry” means here
Wood that lights properly and burns hot instead of hissing at you.
Our bagged wood is seasoned and stored under cover at the yard in Parow, so what goes on the truck is properly dry. Wet wood is the one thing you cannot check before the first match, so we carry that risk, not you.
What the Dry Guarantee covers
Every bagged wood and kindling product on the shop: Blue Gum / Bloekom, Blackwattle, Short Pieces, the Rooikrans Bulk Bag, Kameeldoring, Sekeldoring, Swarthaak, Mopane, the Namibian Hardwood Mix and Chunky, Heat Logs, Wingerd Stompies and all three kindling bags. If it is wood and it comes in a bag, it is covered.
What it does not cover
Loose wood. Loose Blue Gum, Blackwattle and Rooikrans are sold October to March, as-is, for buyers with covered storage who season it themselves. That is part of why a loose load costs less per piece than the same wood bagged.
Charcoal, briquettes, anthracite and firelighters. Not seasoned wood, so a dryness guarantee has nothing to say about them.
The steel log holders. Powder-coated steel does not need one.

After delivery: the one honest paragraph
Dry wood stays dry if it is stored off the ground, covered on top and open at the sides so air moves through it. A wood store, a carport, a pallet under an overhang all work. A sealed plastic sheet wrapped tight against a wall does not: the wood sweats under it and a wet Cape winter does the rest. The guarantee covers the bag as it arrives; the 7-day window is long enough to light the first fire and short enough that storage has not yet had its say.
If you have nowhere covered to keep it, order fewer bags more often.

What does the Dry Guarantee cover?
Every bagged wood and kindling product we sell, from bloekom to kameeldoring to the three kindling bags. If a bag is not properly dry, we uplift it and exchange it for dry bags.
What isn’t covered?
Loose wood, which is sold October to March as-is for buyers with covered storage, and charcoal, briquettes, anthracite, firelighters and the steel log holders, which are not seasoned wood. Loose loads cost less per piece partly because they carry no Dry Guarantee.
How do I claim?

What if I stored the wood badly?
Wood that arrived dry and was then wrapped in a sealed plastic sheet against a wall will go off, and the guarantee cannot cover that. Keep it off the ground, covered on top and open at the sides. If you are unsure whether it was the storage or the bag, send the photo anyway and we will tell you straight.
