The Firewood Company delivers kaggelhout, heat logs, braai wood and charcoal to Milnerton, Century City, Woodbridge Island, Lagoon Beach, Royal Ascot, Sunset Beach and Montague Gardens for R250 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days, and the driver carries the bags to the garage or up to the flat and stacks them — that is in the fee.

Delivery fee: R250 anywhere on this side of the lagoon or the other, two bags or a bakkie-load. No minimum order.

Delivery days: Monday to Friday. Most Milnerton orders arrive within 1–2 business days; in the coldest weeks of winter, when the whole seaboard orders at once, allow 2–4. Checkout shows the current turnaround before you pay.

Cut-off: Thursday 15:00 for Friday’s Western Seaboard run. Later than that, WhatsApp us — if the Friday truck has a gap you are on it, and if not we say so.

Carry-in and stacking: in the fee, basement lift or garage. If you want the wood loose in a store rather than in bags, unbagging is R10 a bag at checkout.

Access: Century City and Royal Ascot run on booms and visitor registration, and a number of the canal-side blocks are entered through basement parking rather than off the street. Put the estate or complex name, the gate code and the registration detail in the order notes so the driver is on the list before the truck gets there, not standing at the gate phoning you.

The Diep River comes out at the lagoon, and the lagoon splits this route in two. On the seaward side, Woodbridge Island and the older Milnerton streets are low, wide houses from an era when a fireplace came standard and the yard had room for a braai and a woodpile. Table Mountain sits straight across the water from the front gate, and so does the weather: the south-easter comes across the bay with nothing to slow it, so wood left in the open at Sunset Beach or Lagoon Beach picks up salt long before it needs to. The garage is the right answer. Inland of the lagoon the map changes decade. Century City went up on open ground next to the N1 from the late nineties — canals, booms, visitor registration, basement parking, and flats with a closed-combustion unit and a cupboard where the older houses have a hearth and a wood store. Royal Ascot, on the old racecourse between the two, behaves the same way: complexes, gates, not much wall to stack against. Montague Gardens, over the Koeberg Road side, is light industrial: charcoal and firelighters on a standing order, not kaggelhout.

What we’d put on the truck for an old Milnerton house: six bloekom for the hearth, a bag of pine kindling, and a Rooikrans Bulk Bag so the braai is covered too, stacked in the garage. For a Century City flat: heat logs, a bag or two at a time, carried up and left in the cupboard.

Can the driver get into a canal-side block through the basement parking?

Yes, if we know that is the way in. Put the block name, the basement entrance, the lift and the flat number in the order notes, and the driver brings the bags up from the parking level. A bag or two of Heat Logs at a time is the normal order there — there is no minimum.

Is Table View or Blouberg the same run as Milnerton?
