The Firewood Company delivers kaggelhout, braai wood, Namibian hardwood and charcoal to Tokai, Bergvliet, Kirstenhof, Lakeside and Meadowridge for R350 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days. Offloading and stacking the bags included.
Delivery fee: R350 flat, whatever you order. No minimum. Postcode 7945 — Tokai, Bergvliet, Kirstenhof, Lakeside and Westlake — sits in the R350 zone, not the R300 zone that covers Newlands, Rondebosch and Claremont. Meadowridge shares Constantia’s postcode and is R350 with it.
Delivery days: Monday to Friday. Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days; in peak winter weeks it can stretch to 2–4. The turnaround for your order is shown at checkout before you pay, and we update it as demand changes.

Tokai sits at the foot of the Constantiaberg, and cold air runs downhill. On a still winter night it slides off the mountain, through what is left of the Tokai pines, and pools across the flat ground of Tokai, Bergvliet, Kirstenhof and Meadowridge — which is why the coldest mornings on our Southern Suburbs route are here, and why the mist off the plantation sits in the streets around Tokai Road long after Wynberg has cleared. The houses are family houses: 1960s and 70s single-storeys on decent plots, a fireplace in the lounge and, nearly always, a braai room or a covered patio with a built-in braai that gets used through winter as much as through summer. Kirstenhof and Lakeside carry the pattern down towards the vlei, and the Steenberg side adds bigger, newer homes with closed-combustion units and a wood store to match. Meadowridge, across Ladies Mile, is the same generation of house on quieter streets. This is a two-fire suburb — kaggelhout for the lounge and braai wood for the room next to it — and the sensible order is both in one drop, so the weekend is covered whatever the mountain does.

Which wood is best for an indoor braai room?
Blackwattle or kameeldoring — both are dense, seasoned hardwood that goes to coals cleanly, which matters more indoors than out. Rooikrans if you want it lit and ready fast. Keep the lounge on bloekom and let the braai room have the hardwood.
It gets properly cold in Tokai. How much should I order?
Whatever your wood store holds — there is no minimum and no maximum, and the route runs Monday to Friday, so topping up mid-winter is a normal order rather than an emergency.
