Delivery to Claremont & Kenilworth
The Firewood Company delivers kaggelhout, braai wood, Namibian hardwood and charcoal to Claremont, Kenilworth, Bishopscourt and Harfield Village for R300 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days. Offloading and stacking the bags included.
Delivery fee: R300 flat, whatever you order. No minimum.
Delivery days: Monday to Friday. Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days; in peak winter weeks it can stretch to 2–4. The turnaround for your order is shown at checkout before you pay, and we update it as demand changes.
Cut-off: order by Thursday 15:00 to be on the Friday run. Orders after that occasionally fit on a Friday morning truck — ask, but plan for the following week.
Offloading and stacking the bags: included. Unbagging is R10 a bag, added at checkout.
Access: Harfield’s avenues are narrow, one-way in places and short on parking, so the truck stops where it can and the bags come the rest of the way by hand. Bishopscourt is the opposite problem — a gate, an intercom and a long drive. Both are solved by one line in the order notes.
Claremont & Kenilworth: the local paragraph
Claremont has two halves, and the railway line splits them. Upper Claremont climbs west from Cavendish towards the mountain and Bishopscourt along Protea Road — bigger plots, older oaks, double-storey homes with a proper chimney and a sitting room built around it. Lower Claremont, east of the line towards Lansdowne Road, is flatter and closer packed: semis and 1930s bungalows with a small brick grate in the lounge. Harfield Village, between Claremont and Kenilworth, is rows of Victorian cottages either side of 2nd Avenue with the front door a step off the pavement and a fireplace built when the cottage was — shallow, narrow, no room for a full-length log. Bishopscourt is the other end of the scale: long driveways off Klaassens Road, oaks that drip until mid-morning after rain, and hearths sized for the room. Kenilworth runs from the racecourse side, where the older houses keep a sitting-room fire and a braai on the stoep, up to Upper Kenilworth under the M3. We’re in Bishopscourt behind a gate. How does delivery work?
Put the gate procedure, the intercom name and where the wood store is in the order notes. The driver carries the bags up the drive and stacks them in the wood store, the garage or by the fireplace — whichever you say. Long drives are normal on this route.
Do you deliver to Claremont on Saturdays?
No — the Southern Suburbs route runs Monday to Friday, and Thursday 15:00 is the cut-off for Friday. If you need wood on a Saturday, the factory shop at 35 Tredoux Street, Parow is open 08:00–12:45 for collection, and we load it for you.
