Delivery to the Atlantic Seaboard
The Firewood Company delivers firewood, heat logs and charcoal to Mouille Point, Green Point, Sea Point, Fresnaye, Bantry Bay, Clifton, Camps Bay and Bakoven for R350 per drop, including apartment carry-ins. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days.
Delivery fee: R350 flat, Mouille Point to Bakoven.
Delivery days: Monday to Friday. Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days; in peak winter weeks it can stretch to 2–4. The turnaround for your order is shown at checkout before you pay, and we update it as demand changes.
Cut-off: order by Thursday 15:00 to be on the Friday run. Orders after that can sometimes be squeezed onto Friday morning’s trucks if there’s space — ask, don’t count on it.

Tell us in the order notes and we’ll plan for it: which building, which entrance, whether there’s a loading bay, whether the lift needs a fob, whether reception has to be called first, and whether the walk is up steps or down them. Half the addresses on this road need one of those and none of them are a problem if we know before the truck leaves Parow.
If it’s a walk-down — a Clifton bungalow, a Bakoven cottage below the road, a Fresnaye house with the parking above the front door — say so and say roughly how many steps. We’ll bring the right number of hands and the wood still gets placed where you want it.
Offloading and stacking the bags: included — balcony corner, braai room, store cupboard, under the stairs. Unbagging — emptying the bags onto your pile — is R10 a bag, added at checkout.

What the Atlantic Seaboard orders
This road buys differently to anywhere else in Cape Town, and it comes down to storage.
Most of the seaboard is apartments, and an apartment has nowhere to put a month of wood. So this is the one road where we’d rather you ordered small and often — a bag or two at a time, on a Thursday for the weekend — than tried to store a season in a flat. It is also why heat logs and short pieces earn their place here more than anywhere on our map: uniform size, no bark mess on a lift floor, and they sit in a corner of a balcony without looking like a woodpile.
Then there is the other seaboard. The old houses on Fresnaye and Bantry Bay, and the ones climbing the Camps Bay slopes, have proper hearths and the room to fill them — and for those we’d send what we send to Constantia: kaggelhout in winter quantities, and hardwood for the long evening.
Through summer this road buys charcoal and briquettes — a kettle on a terrace with the lid on, not an open fire in a south-easter that sends sparks across a neighbour’s balcony.
Namib Briquettes 4kg — R60 — uniform and predictable, and they hold a steady temperature for longer than lump. The right answer for a windy terrace, a snoek on the Weber, or anything low and slow.
Heat Logs 10kg — R115 — compressed hardwood, twelve to a bag. Uniform, low ash, almost no smoke, and no bark mess. Built for closed-combustion units and apartment hearths.

We have been delivering onto the Atlantic Seaboard since 2001, which means we were doing it before half these buildings existed and before the traffic on Victoria Road became what it is now.
What that buys you is unglamorous and it is the entire point: our drivers know which streets you cannot turn a truck around in, which buildings want you at the back, and which addresses are a set of steps rather than a driveway. Wood arriving is easy. Wood arriving at a flat on the fourth floor of a building with one lift, on the day it was promised, is the part that takes practice.

Can you deliver to an apartment?
Yes, and we do it every week. Put the building name, the entrance and any reception detail in the order notes, and tell us if there are steps. Where the block has a service lift, we carry the bags up and place them where you want them. Where it doesn’t, we stack them in your ground-floor garage or parking bay.
Which firewood suits an apartment fireplace?
Heat logs or short pieces. Both are cut and compressed to a uniform size, they make less mess than split logs, and they suit a small hearth or a closed-combustion unit better than a full-length log does.
Is your wood actually dry?
