Delivery to Bellville & Welgemoed
The Firewood Company delivers kaggelhout, braai wood, Namibian hardwood and charcoal to Bellville, Welgemoed, Welgedacht, Loevenstein, Boston and Oakdale for R200 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Saturday, typically within 1–2 business days. Offloading and stacking the bags included.
Delivery fee: R200 flat, whatever you order. No minimum.
Delivery days: Monday to Saturday. Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days; in peak winter weeks it can stretch to 2–4. The turnaround for your order is shown at checkout before you pay, and we update it as demand changes.
Cut-off: order by Friday 15:00 to be on Saturday’s run. Miss it and ask anyway — Friday morning sometimes has room, but we won’t promise it.
Offloading and stacking the bags: included. Unbagging is R10 a bag, added at checkout.
Access: Welgemoed driveways are long and some of them climb. Tell us whether the wood store is at the top or the bottom and the driver parks accordingly.
Bellville & Welgemoed: the local paragraph
Bellville has two kinds of house, and they want different wood. South of Durban Road, in Boston and Oakdale, the houses were built long before open-plan, around a brick hearth with a narrow throat and a good draw — a fireplace that gets lit most winter nights and rewards a full-length piece of bloekom with a slow, quiet burn. The nature reserve above Welgemoed gives the July wind a clear run at the ridge houses, and those are the homes that burn hardwood rather than a mix. Jip de Jager Drive and Durban Road are the truck’s spine here, and the yard in Parow is close enough that a Bellville drop is a short hop rather than a route.
What we’d put on the truck for a Boston house: bloekom and a bag of pine kindling. For a Welgemoed house: kameeldoring for the closed-combustion unit, chunky Namibian hardwood for the boma, and bloekom for the nights nobody is entertaining.
