Delivery to Brackenfell & Kraaifontein

The Firewood Company delivers braai wood, kaggelhout, Namibian hardwood and charcoal to Brackenfell, Kraaifontein, Protea Heights, Vredekloof, Sonkring, Northpine and Bonnie Brook for R200 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days, with Saturdays on request, and the driver takes the bags through the side gate to the braai and stacks them — that is in the fee.

Delivery fee: R200 anywhere in Brackenfell or Kraaifontein, two bags or twenty. No minimum order.

Delivery days: Monday to Friday, and Saturdays on request when there is enough demand. Most Brackenfell orders arrive within 1–2 business days; in the coldest weeks of winter allow 2–4. Checkout shows the current turnaround before you pay.

Saturdays: not a fixed run. When enough Brackenfell and Kraaifontein orders line up for a Saturday, the truck goes — ask on early in the week and we tell you.

Carry-in and stacking: in the fee, through the side gate to the braai. If you want the bags emptied into a wood box, unbagging is R10 a bag at checkout.

Access: most houses here have a gate, two cars and a braai round the back. Tell us “through the side gate, next to the braai” in the order notes and that’s where the bags go.

Braai suburbs first, fireplace suburbs second

Brackenfell and Kraaifontein are braai suburbs before they are fireplace suburbs. The family houses in Protea Heights, Vredekloof and Sonkring were built with the braai as a room — a built-in under the roof, a counter along one wall, a bracket for the television — and it gets lit in August as readily as in December. Northpine and Bonnie Brook are the same idea on tighter plots. So the wood we’d send here runs to rooikrans for a Tuesday-night chop, kameeldoring or blackwattle when the family is coming on Sunday, briquettes for the kettle braai, and bloekom for the houses that do have a hearth. Old Paarl Road and Frans Conradie Drive bring the truck in from Parow, and Cape Gate is the landmark everybody gives. The weekend’s braai is decided by Friday lunchtime, so order early in the week and the Friday truck has your bags stacked by the braai before the fire is lit. If you would rather have a Saturday drop, ask on — we run one when there is enough demand.

What we’d put on the truck for a Brackenfell house: two rooikrans, two kameeldoring, a bag of Namib briquettes and a box of firelighters.

What Brackenfell & Kraaifontein orders

Rooikrans Bulk Bag — R80 — the Cape’s braai wood. Easy to light, hot, quick to coal, and harvested in the Western Cape from invasive alien clearing.

Kameeldoring 18kg — R120 — dense Namibian hardwood for the Sunday braai. Burns down to coals that outlast the boerewors, the chops and the second round.

Namib Briquettes 4kg — R55 — steady temperature for longer than lump. The kettle braai’s friend for a whole chicken or a low-and-slow shoulder.

Brackenfell & Kraaifontein firewood delivery — FAQ

How much is firewood delivery to Brackenfell and Kraaifontein?

R200 flat per drop, and the same fee in Protea Heights, Vredekloof, Sonkring, Northpine and Bonnie Brook. Checkout shows it before you pay, not after.

Do you actually deliver to Kraaifontein?

Yes — Kraaifontein is on the Northern Suburbs route at the same R200 as Brackenfell, and has been for years. Enter your address at checkout and the fee and the day come back before you pay.

Which wood is best for a Brackenfell built-in braai?

Rooikrans for a quick weeknight fire — it lights fast and coals fast. Kameeldoring when you’re cooking for a crowd and need coals that hold through a long afternoon. Blackwattle sits between the two: local wood, hotter and longer than bloekom, good cooking coals.

Can I get firewood delivered in Brackenfell on a Saturday?

On request. Saturday deliveries happen when there is enough demand on the day, so ask us on early in the week. The Northern Suburbs run itself is Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days.

Is the wood dry enough to braai on tonight?

The bagged kaggelhout and Namibian hardwood, yes — seasoned and kept under cover at our Parow yard, and covered by the Dry Guarantee we have stood behind for 25 years: if a bag disappoints, tell us and we make it right. Rooikrans is seasoned and stored under cover too, but it is a bulk braai bag and sold without the guarantee. Read the Dry Guarantee.

Do you deliver to Protea Heights, Vredekloof and the newer estates off Old Paarl Road?

Yes — all of Brackenfell and Kraaifontein is in the R200 Northern Suburbs zone, estates included. Put the estate name and gate procedure in the order notes; checkout confirms the fee from your postcode before you pay.

How far ahead should I order for a Sunday braai?

Order by Wednesday and the usual 1–2 business days has the bags stacked by Friday. Saturday runs are on request only, so don’t leave a Sunday braai to a Saturday delivery.

Can I collect from Parow instead?

Yes. The factory shop at 35 Tredoux Street, Parow is a short drive down Frans Conradie or Old Paarl Road, open Monday to Friday 08:00–16:30 and Saturdays 08:00–12:45. For a Saturday-morning top-up it is often quicker than waiting for a truck.

Order for the next Brackenfell run

Order today and the Northern Suburbs truck is at your gate within a couple of days — bags carried through to the braai and stacked.
