Loose black wattle wood is for sale all year by the piece: firewood in 250 to 3,000 pieces for the fireplace, the pizza oven and the braai, delivered from Parow across Cape Town, the Winelands and the West Coast. The Firewood Company’s Dry Guarantee doesn’t cover it: loose blackwattle finishes drying on your side, so stack it under a roof with air moving through it.

How to store and light it
Stack it off the ground, under a roof, with gaps for air. To light: a firelighter, a handful of kindling and a few pieces on top; let it catch before you add more.

How much is a load of black wattle wood?
Each size has its own price, shown live when you choose it. Carrying it in and stacking it within 50 m is included; add one delivery fee per drop for your area, from R200.
Is loose black wattle covered by the Dry Guarantee?
No. The bagged Blackwattle 20kg is; loose blackwattle is sold as-is, because it finishes drying on your side.
Loose black wattle or loose blue gum: which should I buy?
Blue gum for the nightly fire: it lights readily. Black wattle is denser and burns hotter, with better cooking coals: take it if the stack also feeds a braai or a pizza oven.
Can I use loose black wattle in a pizza oven or a closed-combustion fireplace?
Yes to both, once it has dried under a roof: it’s the same wood as our bag, and Blackwattle and Blue Gum are the woods we recommend for each. In a pizza oven, add some Swarthaak for extra heat.
