Best for / not for
- Best for a vine wood braai: lamb chops, sosaties, prawns and flatbreads.
- Wingerd stompies or rooikrans? Both are quick. Wingerd stompies light in moments and add fragrance; rooikrans wood burns hot and gets to coals quickly for the everyday braai.
- Coals that must hold? Kameeldoring wood.
- Try other braai woods in the braai wood combo, or see all our braai wood.
- Weber or kettle braai? Use briquettes.
How to use them
On their own: a firelighter under a little pine kindling and the vine stumps on top; they catch in moments. For aroma: throw a few wingerd stompies onto hardwood coals near the end of a cook.
