Braai wood, rooikrans, charcoal and briquettes delivered to Table View, Blouberg, Parklands and Sunningdale for R250, carried in and stacked behind the wall, out of the wind.

This is the side of the bay that braais all year and fights the south-easter doing it. The order here is charcoal in summer, rooikrans on a Wednesday and a bag of hardwood for the long weekend.

Table Mountain across Table Bay from Bloubergstrand

Delivery to Table View & Blouberg

The Firewood Company delivers braai wood, charcoal, briquettes and Namibian hardwood to Table View, Bloubergstrand, Blouberg Rise, Bloubergrant, Big Bay, Parklands, Sunningdale and West Beach for R250 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days, and the driver carries the bags through the boom and round the back to the braai and stacks them — that is in the fee.

Delivery fee: R250 anywhere between Milnerton and Big Bay, a bag of charcoal or twenty bags of wood. No minimum order.

Delivery days: Monday to Friday. Most Table View orders arrive within 1–2 business days; in the December rush and the coldest weeks of winter allow 2–4. Checkout shows the current turnaround before you pay.

Cut-off: Thursday 15:00 for Friday’s Western Seaboard run — the one to aim for when the weekend braai is already planned. Later than that, us; a gap on the Friday truck happens, but don’t build the weekend on it.

Carry-in and stacking: in the fee, boom to braai. If you would rather have the wood loose in a store than in bags, unbagging is R10 a bag at checkout.

Estates and complexes: most of Parklands and Sunningdale is behind a boom. Put the estate name, the street and the visitor procedure in the order notes and the driver goes straight in rather than sitting at the gate phoning you.

Storing it here: salt air and wind undo good wood faster on this coast than anywhere else we deliver. Off the ground, covered on top, sides open so the air moves — under a carport, not under a plastic sheet against a wall. No covered corner at all? Order smaller and more often.

The wind decides everything on this side of the bay

Table View and Blouberg look straight across the bay at Table Mountain, which is the view that sold every plot from Blouberg Rise to Sunningdale — and the reason the south-easter arrives here with nothing in its way. From October it comes across the water hard enough to fill Big Bay with kitesurfers, and every braai on this coast is built into a corner, behind a wall or under a roof because of it. It is the one part of Cape Town where people ask us about wind before they ask about wood. The honest answer is that an open fire in a gale is a losing argument: a kettle with the lid on, or a built-in with the house at its back, is what works, which is why charcoal and briquettes move here in summer the way they do nowhere else on our map.

The houses do the rest. Parklands, Sunningdale and Blouberg Rise went up over the last twenty years, fast, and they were built with a braai rather than a fireplace — a built-in on the patio, a wall behind it, a lawn in front. The older streets of Table View and Bloubergstrand, down towards the beach and Marine Circle, are a generation earlier and a few of them still have a hearth in the lounge for the wet weeks of winter. So the order from a Parklands house is the reverse of a Constantia one: rooikrans and charcoal through summer and every long weekend, kameeldoring when the whole street is coming over, and a modest winter order of bloekom for the houses that do have a chimney. The truck comes up the R27 from Parow with the bay on its left the whole way, about twenty minutes door to door.

What Table View & Blouberg orders

Rooikrans Bulk Bag — R80 — the wood this coast grew up braaiing on. Easy to light, hot, quick to coal, and it does not sulk in a breeze. Seasoned and stored under cover; sold outside the Dry Guarantee.

Namib Briquettes 4kg — R55 — steady, uniform heat that holds longer than lump — the right call for a kettle with the lid down on a windy Saturday, a whole chicken or anything low and slow.

Kameeldoring ±18kg — R120 — dense Namibian hardwood for the built-in when the family is coming. Burns down to a deep bed of coals that outlasts the wind and the second round.

Table View & Blouberg firewood delivery — FAQ

How much is firewood delivery to Table View or Blouberg?

R250 flat per drop, the same across Bloubergstrand, Blouberg Rise, Bloubergrant, Big Bay, Parklands, Sunningdale and West Beach, and the same for one bag of charcoal or twenty bags of wood. Checkout shows it before you pay.

What should I braai on when the south-easter is up?

Charcoal or briquettes in a kettle with the lid on, rather than an open wood fire. Briquettes hold a steadier temperature for longer; restaurant-grade lump lights faster and sears harder. If it has to be wood, kameeldoring — dense enough not to blow away as sparks — with the house at the fire’s back.

Can you deliver into a Parklands or Sunningdale estate?

Yes — that is most of what we do up here. Put the estate name, the street and the visitor-registration detail in the order notes, and the driver goes through the boom and stacks the bags at the braai or in the garage without a phone call.

Do you deliver to Big Bay and the beachfront blocks?

Yes. For a block, give us the building name, the flat number and whether there is a lift in the order notes, and the driver brings the bags up. A bag of charcoal and a bag of rooikrans at a time is a normal beachfront order — there is no minimum.

Is the wood dry when it gets to this side of the bay?

Yes. Every bag is seasoned and kept under cover at our Parow yard until it goes on the truck, so it lights properly and burns hot instead of hissing. That is the Dry Guarantee we have stood behind for 25 years: if a bag disappoints, tell us and we make it right. What the salt air does after that depends on where you keep it — see the storage note above. Read the Dry Guarantee.

Which wood for the older Table View houses with a fireplace?

Bloekom for an open hearth — it lights easily and burns long and even through a wet July evening. For a closed-combustion unit, bloekom or blackwattle is our recommendation; Heat Logs if you want no bark and less ash. Store it in the garage, not on the stoep.

Do you deliver to Table View on a Saturday?

No — the Western Seaboard run is Monday to Friday. Order by Thursday 15:00 and you are on Friday’s truck, with the wood stacked before the weekend. The factory shop at 35 Tredoux Street, Parow is open Saturdays 08:00–12:45 for collection.

Do you supply the restaurants and guest houses along the beachfront?

Yes. Restaurant-grade lump charcoal, briquettes, kameeldoring and firewood in quantity, on a standing order that runs with the Western Seaboard run days and lands at the kitchen door. LP gas through our sister company Help U Gas. us for trade pricing.

Order for the next Western Seaboard run

Order by Thursday 15:00 and Friday’s truck comes up the R27 with your bags — carried through the boom and stacked behind the wall, out of the wind.
