Delivery to Franschhoek
The Firewood Company delivers kaggelhout, braai wood, Namibian hardwood and charcoal to Franschhoek, La Motte, Le Roux, the estates along the R45 and the farms up the Franschhoek Pass road for R300 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 2–4 business days. Offloading and stacking the bags included.
Delivery fee: R300 flat, whatever you order. No minimum.

Cut-off: order by Thursday 15:00 to be on Friday’s run. Franschhoek is the far end of the Winelands route, so after the cut-off the honest answer is usually the following week — ask anyway.
Offloading and stacking the bags: included. Unbagging is R10 a bag, added at checkout.
Access: Estate and farm addresses need the estate or farm name, the gate procedure and where the wood store is. Guest houses: tell us which entrance and whether the wood goes to one store or to the rooms. The main road is narrow and busy at lunchtime — a side street or a service entrance saves the driver a lap.
Franschhoek: the local paragraph
Franschhoek is a valley that closes in on itself. The mountains take the sun off the eastern side by mid-afternoon from May onwards, the cold pools on the valley floor overnight, and the old Huguenot houses along the main road — thatch, thick walls, a fireplace in every front room — hold that cold until something is burning in them. This is a town of fires: guest houses that promise a lit hearth on arrival, restaurants cooking over wood, wine estates with a braai room for the harvest crew and a fireplace for the tasting room, and private houses up the slope with a closed-combustion unit and a view. It orders steadily from April and heavily from June, and the wood has to be right, because a smoky, hissing fire in a Franschhoek guest room ends up in a review.
Summer is the other half. From November the valley fills every weekend, the braai moves outside under the oaks, and the order becomes kameeldoring coals and stompies rather than a winter’s stack of bloekom. Either way, the truck comes up the R45 on the Winelands run and stacks it where you say.
What we’d put on the truck for a Franschhoek guest house in winter: fifteen bloekom for the rooms, six kameeldoring for the lounge hearth, and two boxes of firelighters. For an estate braai in February: ten kameeldoring, four Namibian hardwood chunky and a bag of stompies.

Which wood suits an old thatched house in Franschhoek?
Bloekom for a deep open hearth — it catches easily and burns evenly without spitting. For a closed-combustion unit, kameeldoring or the Namibian hardwood mix gives more heat from fewer pieces and holds through the night.
Do you deliver over the Franschhoek Pass or to Villiersdorp?
Not on the standard route. The Winelands run ends at Franschhoek and the farms just past the village. If you are over the Pass, WhatsApp us with the address and quantity — a farm-sized order is sometimes enough to add a stop.
