Delivery to Strand & Gordon’s Bay
The Firewood Company delivers braai wood, charcoal, kaggelhout and Namibian hardwood to Strand, Gordon’s Bay, Melkbaai, Rusthof, Van der Stel and Harbour Island for R300 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, typically within 1–2 business days. Offloading and stacking the bags included.

Delivery days: Monday to Friday. Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days; in peak winter weeks it can stretch to 2–4. The turnaround for your order is shown at checkout before you pay, and we update it as demand changes.
Cut-off: order by Thursday 15:00 to be on Friday’s run. For a house that fills up on a Friday afternoon, that is the run that counts. After the cut-off, ask, but don’t build the weekend on the answer.

Strand and Gordon’s Bay buy fire the way holiday towns do — in bursts, around December, Easter and every long weekend, rather than in one July stock-up. The blocks along Beach Road fill in a week and empty in a week, and a flat that comes with a balcony braai usually comes with one cupboard going spare, which rules out a winter’s worth of wood before the conversation starts. Buy less, more often, and keep it inside. R300 flat per drop, the same in Melkbaai, Rusthof, Van der Stel and Harbour Island, and the same for one bag or ten. The fee is on the page and on the checkout screen before payment, not after it.
We’re in a holiday flat with almost no storage. What should we order?
Short Pieces at R99 and a 5kg bag of Namib charcoal at R60. Both stack small and both suit a week of braais rather than a season of them. Heat logs are the tidiest of the three: twelve compressed logs in one box, no bark, low ash.
Does sea air ruin firewood?
It does not help it. Salt and mist find anything left in an open carport or on a balcony, and damp wood is hard to light and disappointing once it is. Keep the bags closed and indoors — a cupboard, a store room, under the stairs — and buy smaller amounts more often instead of storing a winter’s worth beside the sea.
Can you deliver before the December holidays?
Yes, and the last two weeks of December are the busiest of the year on this road. Order by Thursday 15:00 for the Friday run, and if the house is filling up over the holidays, order the week before rather than the day before.
