Delivery to Goodwood & Monte Vista
The Firewood Company delivers kaggelhout, braai wood, Namibian hardwood and charcoal to Goodwood, Monte Vista and Vasco for R200 per drop. Deliveries run Monday to Saturday, typically within 1–2 business days. Offloading and stacking the bags included. Collection from the factory shop at 35 Tredoux Street, Parow — Monday to Friday 08:00–16:30, Saturday 08:00–12:45 — is free.
Delivery fee: R200 flat, whatever you order. No minimum.
Delivery days: Monday to Saturday. Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days; in peak winter weeks it can stretch to 2–4. The turnaround for your order is shown at checkout before you pay, and we update it as demand changes.
Cut-off: order by Friday 15:00 to be on Saturday’s run. Miss it and ask — sometimes there’s a gap on Friday morning, but don’t build the weekend around it.
Offloading and stacking the bags: included. Unbagging is R10 a bag, added at checkout.
Access: Goodwood driveways are narrow and the carport is usually full. If the bags need to go through the side gate to the back, say so in the order notes and the driver carries them round.
Goodwood & Monte Vista: the local paragraph
Goodwood is the old part of the Northern Suburbs — a grid of streets off Voortrekker Road laid out when a house came with a chimney as standard, and the hearths are small: a narrow firebox, a low mantel, a grate that wants pieces cut short rather than the full-length bloekom a Durbanville hearth swallows whole. That is why Short Pieces exist in our range. Vasco is the same housing stock, a little further along the line. Monte Vista, across the N1, was built a generation later and built differently: single-storey on a wider plot, a built-in braai on the back stoep and a lawn big enough for a fire pit, with the wind coming straight off the flats in summer. The two halves want different wood, and the truck carries both — short bloekom and kindling south of the highway, rooikrans and kameeldoring north of it. And the yard is right here. Parow is the next suburb along Voortrekker Road, so if there is a bakkie in the driveway, collection saves the fee entirely; if there isn’t, R200 puts it in the garage, stacked.

What wood fits a small Goodwood fireplace?
Short Pieces bloekom, cut for exactly that firebox, at R99 a bag. Pair it with pine kindling and one firelighter and it is going in minutes. If yours is a closed-combustion unit, heat logs are the tidier option.
Is it worth collecting from Parow instead?
From Goodwood, often yes. The shop is on Tredoux Street, a few minutes away, open Monday to Friday 08:00–16:30 and Saturday 08:00–12:45. Bring a bakkie or a trailer; we load it. The delivery fee buys you the carrying and stacking instead.
