The promoter

The prize
Seventeen (17) prizes. Two (2) grand prizes, each of two (2) VIP tickets to the South Africa Barbecue Festival, Saturday 10 October 2026, Sandringham Farm, Stellenbosch, face value R2,200 each (R4,400 a pair). Fifteen (15) prizes, each of two (2) General Admission tickets to the same event, face value R400 each (R800 a pair). Thirty-four (34) tickets in total, face value R20,800. One prize per person.
The prize is the tickets only. Travel, parking, accommodation, food, drink and anything else you spend on the day is yours. Tickets cannot be exchanged for cash, cannot be transferred or resold, and are subject to the festival’s own ticket terms and any age or alcohol rules at the event. No charge of any kind is made for the prize.
Who can enter
Anyone aged 18 or over who lives in one of the Cape Town areas The Firewood Company delivers to: the suburbs listed on the entry form, covering the Northern Suburbs, Western Seaboard, Southern Suburbs, City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard, South Peninsula, Winelands and Helderberg, and the West Coast route. The suburb you give on the form decides eligibility, and we may ask a winner to confirm their address before handing over a prize. Directors, employees, agents, consultants and suppliers of The Firewood Company, Namib Africa, Help U Gas and the South Africa Barbecue Festival, and their spouses, life partners and immediate families, may not enter.
How to enter — entry is free and no purchase is necessary
- One entry: complete the entry form at thefirewoodcompany.co.za/win-sa-bbq-festival-tickets/. One form entry per mobile number. This is the only way into the draw and it costs nothing; your normal data and network charges apply.
- Three extra entries: tick the separate, optional box on the form asking us to send you our specials, new stock and delivery days by WhatsApp and email. You do not need to tick it to enter, and you can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP or clicking unsubscribe.
- Five extra entries: post a photo or video of your braai or braai area on Facebook or Instagram, publicly, tag @thefirewoodcompanycapetown and use #TFWCgiveaway. You are never required to tag other people or to share to your own timeline. By tagging us you confirm the photo is yours and allow us to repost it with credit.
- Ten extra entries: place any paid order on thefirewoodcompany.co.za between 15 September and 23:59 on Wednesday 30 September 2026. One order counts; the order must be paid before the closing time, and orders that are cancelled or refunded lose their extra entries.
Extra entries are additional to your form entry, not instead of it. The form entry stands on its own; a paid order simply gives you more chances. You must complete the form to be in the draw.
Opening and closing
Entries open on 15 September 2026 and close at 23:59 (South African Standard Time) on Wednesday 30 September 2026. Entries after that do not count.
The draw
Winners are drawn at random from all valid entries, weighted by extra entries (the two grand prizes first, then the fifteen General Admission prizes), on Thursday 1 October 2026 at 31 Tredoux Street, Parow, under the supervision of an independent accountant, auditor or attorney, who certifies the draw. Winners are contacted on the day of the draw by WhatsApp on the mobile number given on the form (and by phone or email if WhatsApp does not reach them), with up to three attempts over 48 hours. We ask each winner to confirm by WhatsApp the email address the tickets should go to, and email the tickets to that address. Winners are announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages on Friday 2 October 2026. If a winner cannot be reached in that time, that prize is redrawn and the attempts are logged. Tickets are emailed to the address the winner confirms, within 48 hours of the draw. We invite winners to post a photo with the person they are taking, tagging @thefirewoodcompanycapetown with #TFWCgiveaway and #SABBQFestival, and to come and say hello at our stand on the day, where we may ask for a photo for our Facebook and Instagram pages. These are invitations: you may say no, and saying no does not affect your prize. The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Your information
We collect your name, email, mobile number and suburb to run this competition and to contact you if you win, and we record the time, network address (IP), browser and the link you arrived from to prevent fraud and to see which channels people enter from. Supplying your details is voluntary, but we cannot enter you without them. We will only send you WhatsApp and email marketing if you tick the separate, optional box asking for it (which also gives you three extra entries); you can stop at any time by replying STOP. We do not sell or share your information with anyone except the festival, if needed to issue your tickets. You may ask to see, correct or delete your details by emailing info@tfwc.co.za, and you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
We keep a record of entries, these rules and the winners for three years, and will produce them to the National Consumer Commission on request.
Winners’ first names and suburbs may be published on our Facebook and Instagram pages. If you would rather we didn’t, tell us in writing (email or WhatsApp) when we contact you and we won’t.
General
This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta, Instagram or Facebook. The promoter may cancel or change the competition if required by law or by circumstances outside its control, and will say so on this page. Nothing in these rules limits liability for gross negligence or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
